Helping Your Green Spaces Thrive

Trees are the most significant feature of the landscape and offer a unique historical, cultural, and aesthetic value to schools and universities. Thriving green spaces define the character of academic institutions and provide numerous environmental benefits, such as shade on long walks to class on a hot summer day, and the cleaning of air pollutants like carbon dioxide. Trees are also essential to many campus’ sustainability initiatives. Unfortunately, trees and the environmental benefits they provide can be overlooked.

The urban environment presents extremely harsh growing conditions. Trees on many campuses struggle to survive due to limited root space, compacted soil, and adverse environmental conditions. In a weakened state, trees are susceptible to insect infestation and disease; without help, they will decline and die prematurely.

Our arborist can help:

  • Earn Schools and Universities the Tree Campus USA distinction from the Arbor Day Foundation
  • Create tree standards and guidelines that will promote tree protection, proper planting, tree care and necessary removals, and control of invasive species from the entire campus
  • Provide a TreeKeeper® survey and report to enhance the campus’s green messaging, and serve as a baseline GPS inventory for all trees
  • Provide a four-stage action plan and budget to reduce safety hazards, improve tree health, and enhance tree aesthetics
